While there was no owner’s manual for parenting, being filled with the Lord’s wisdom would positively impact how we parent, thereby impacting our children’s lives.
I appreciated how our pastor asked us to share great examples of strong parent role models from the bible. Then when we did, he reminded us of their flaws. The point was, we’re flawed people that need to pursue the wisdom of the Word. That wisdom would show in our actions, impacting our lives as well as the lives of our children, family, friends, and community.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Pastor Dave’s challenge was to read a book of proverbs a day. So, on June 3, we read Proverbs 3. On June 4, we read Proverbs 4. Furthermore, he challenged us to memorize Proverbs 1:7 as a foundational scripture to why we were reading the Word.
